That Sweet Spot

That Sweet Spot

Clink! There is nothing more tragic than the sound of metal hitting the ground. Every lash artist knows the heart-wrenching feeling of your favorite tweezer - bent perfectly enough that there’s no saving it. RIP!

A moment of transparency. You never get the same batch of tweezers twice; they are the most challenging item to stock due to manufacturer inconsistencies. It takes months to source a perfect tweezer and takes even more time to ensure a high-quality tweezer ends up in your hands. The exact reason why we hand-test every tweezer that makes its way into our warehouse. You can always go back to your old faithful, but no two tweezers are the same. Most lash brands will mark the “sweet spot” for easier lashing but this only helps so much.

The “sweet spot” for anyone that might be unfamiliar with this term is the place where metal meets metal at the tip of the tweezer. It’s the exact point on the tweezer where you can roll, pinch or pull a lash. This area is important to find as it will not only make your application easier but will make your application more efficient and therefore faster. Eventually, once you’re used to the way a tweezer functions the sweet spot will become second nature, and with each application will be easier and easier to find. There are also moments where no matter what you do, the “sweet spot” is never found - realizing that those tweezers probably aren’t for you.

Through experience, you’ll learn what tweezers work for you and what don’t. Our go-to tweezers will always be our Lola’s, perfect for any level of experience, they are easy to use and can be used for classic and volume applications. It’s important to read tweezer descriptions to find something that will work for you. It’s also important to try new types of tweezers, you might be surprised!

Oh - one last thing. Just because a tweezer is expensive doesn't mean it’ll work for you. Be careful with savvy marketing tricks.
