Part Two: What's in our Ingredient List - Outlash Extensions Pro US

Part Two: What's in our Ingredient List

The strength of our adhesives can be broken down based on what’s in them. Different compositions are ideal for different needs. For example, clear adhesives for someone with sensitive eyes, a slower drying adhesive based on someone’s experience level, or perhaps the type of application someone wants to do.

Part One of our series tells us that adhesives can be up to (if not more) 90 weight percent cyanoacrylate so what else are we putting in our adhesives?

  • Ethyl-2-Cyanocrylate: This adhesive ingredient is colourless and has low viscosity. This ingredient is most often used in medical glues for liquid bandages. It is toxin-free and safe for use around the skin.
  • Alkoxy-2-Cyanoacrylate: This ingredient is what makes our adhesives flexible. Alkoxy-2-Cyanoacrylate is also used for medical practices. It’s a key ingredient because it helps the extensions adhere smoothly onto the natural lashes, and gives your lashes movement as to not look stiff.
  • Polymethyl Methacrylate: Also known as PMMA, polymethyl methacrylate is what gives our adhesives their bonding power.  Less is more in this case and because a little goes a long way, most adhesives only contain a very little amount of PMMA.
  • Carbon Black: This is what gives adhesives their black pigmentation and can also be used in food and beverage colouring making it safe.
